Current Mood: tired tired

I have a question for you camping/military types out there. Is the orange flavored "Beverage Base Powder" from MREs really Tang in disguise, or is it available anywhere under some other brand name? I tried it tonight for a change of pace and find I really, really enjoy it.

You Are Curling

What you lack in athleticism, you make up for in concentration.
And while curling isn't much more of a sport than bowling, you *can* win a gold medal for it!

BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY, seek opportunities to genuinely connect with others, and need to be appreciated. They do everything with quality and are devoted and loyal friends and employers/employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to are their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and will give freely of themselves in order to nurture others lives.

BLUES, however, do need to be understood. They have distinct preferences and occasionally the somewhat controlling (but always fair) personality of a confident leader. Their code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as remembering special life events (i.e., birthdays and anniversaries). BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, nurturing, and can also be self-righteous, a bit worry-prone, and emotionally intense. They are like sainted pit-bulls who never let go of something once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere, make an effort to truly understand them, and truly appreciate them.

Your Job Dissatisfaction Level is 40%

Your job is not bad, but it's probably not a long term thing.
You're just not happy enough to stick around for too long...
And there's little that can change how you feel.
Start looking around for other options, but only quit for something really good!

If there is someone on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

And my socks for the Knitting Olympics are going well. I've progressed a lot faster than I'd expected so far, down the cuff and past the heel on sock #1. I left a couple of cuff repeats out, (1) because I'm short and (2) because the pattern errata that came out after I'd strung the beads mentions I'd need another 30 or so to finish the cuff as written. Beads all get strung onto the yarn before starting, so to add more I'd have to cut the yarn & tie it back on and knots bug my feet.

They're only in the top part, no beads below the ankle so they won't be rubbing against my shoes. What really bugs me about it is I'm not sure how well they'll deal with washing & drying. At best they may take a cold-water wash, but no way I'm risking them in the dryer. The yarn can take it, but I'm afraid the beads would crack or melt (don't remember if they're glass or plastic).

ummm... orange beverage powder... I've been in quite a few discussions on this and the prevailing opinion I've seen is it's similar to Tang but far more stomach-wrenching acidic than Tang could ever imagine being. Best person to answer I think though would be Nils this Saturday.
