Found out last night that while I was on vacation, one of my two fellow auditors has transferred to day shift accounting, as cashier/accounts receivable. I'd wanted to apply for the job myself and probably could have gotten it, but it would have been a pay cut - for him, it's a small increase. I'm glad he got it, I think he'll do a great job. I just dread having to train a new auditor, just before our other auditor heads to Brazil for a couple of weeks in September.
When it comes to face-to-face meetings, I'm really shy and nervous around new people. Training a new co-worker is about the last thing on my favorites list, a little behind having another C-section. (Not that I can have any more kids now, three are plenty, but you get the idea.) It'll be a little while before I have to face it, they haven't even hired anybody yet as far as I know, but keeping the Wheel in mind, hopefully it'll work out for the best in the long run.
