Current Mood: happy happy

Happiness is watching NASA's live feed of the Fourth of July shuttle launch with my kids, who are seeing one for the first time, and them cheering when they realize they're really watching people going up into space right now.

Edit: Yet again, I meant to post this to one_happiness and it went to my journal instead. But I like it, so it stays.

I'm pretty sure this was the first time I've watched a launch live since Challenger. When they said "Go for throttle up" I held my breath a few seconds, waiting to see if it was going to explode or not.

Yeah that does make a body nervous. And now we're stuck wondering about the re-entry situation as well. Still, it's hope, and whenever it's successful it's golden.
