Current Mood: sick sick

I feel like crap. Nothing major, but probably early stages of a cold or something. Today's supposed to be getting up into the 90s (F), third straight record high for late September, and I can't stop shivering. They probably have the AC cranked up to keep the upper floors reasonable, so this little basement office with a big ceiling vent and no sunny windows to warm it up is absolutely freezing. I keep a couple of sweaters at work, gifts from a coworker, but they're both tight in the upper arms & I can't fasten them. I really want to knit a shawl RIGHT NOW, probably Knitting Daily's Comfort Shawl, I've got a couple skeins of soft (and easy-care) green acrylic at home that I've used before for my kids' baby blankets. I *really* want to just curl up with a hot tea and a lap full of cozy knitting. Definitely don't feel like working today, hard to count money when my hands feel cold & stiff.

ETA: Found part of the problem, at least. It's been hot the past few days, so somebody had turned the thermostat for Accounting all the way down to 60F. The building's huge and on an ancient boiler/chiller system, so it took a couple of days to get down to temperature. And since my office is small and closed off at night, it was really cold in there when I came in today. Getting warmer gradually now that my door's open, but still, a shawl's definitely a good idea.

The building where I used to work had the thermostats cross-wired. The one for the center of our floor was in an outer office which caught the morning sun, and vice versa. Things occasionally got interesting before we figured this out. ;-)
