welcome to the 21st century @ 07:31 am

Not my idea, but I've got a cell phone now. My nephew got a new one and gave his old one back to his granny (my mother-in-law). Since she and Gazer both already had phones, she gave this one to me. All three phones in the house look alike, so I've put a Lakota sunburst quilt sticker on the back of mine.

I'm still playing with buttons, figuring out how to work the darn thing. At least I finally have a use for the cell phone pocket on the shoulder strap of my backpack.

"I'm still playing with buttons..."

Does this explain the strange call at 3:43 AM? ;-)

They are nice to have . . .

I keep mine off most of the time (unless I'm expecting a specific call), but appreciate being able to make a call when I'm not home (pay phones have become so expensive). They come in handy.

I carry one in case of emergency. I made the mistake of giving my mom the number, now if she needs me and I dont answer at home she just calls the cell. Most of the time it's for the STUPIDEST reasons too. Frustrates me. I tend not to answer it unless I know I have to.
Pay phones have become expensive, probably because the majority of people on this planet are using cell phones and they need to make up for the loss of use.
