scrap one receiver... @ 02:42 pm

Current Mood: frustrated frustrated

Does anyone happen to have an old (functional) Dish Network receiver they aren't using any more? Doesn't need a DVR or anything fancy, as long as it'll get Cartoon Network, NickToons, etc. One of the boys spilled milk into the playroom tuner a couple of days ago, once it dried out it worked again for a couple of hours but now it can't find a signal.

Most Dish Network receivers have a moisture sensor on the motherboard. When it dries completely it allows the circuit to work again. This was meant to prevent problems from condensation but it should apply to milk as well.

That makes sense.. it's one of the older models with a ton of vents. (which is how the milk got in so easily)

Make sure you aren't paying the warranty charge monthly. If you are, they should replace it. Postage may be required.
