Writer's Block: So Sensitive @ 07:34 pm

What are you most sensitive about?

I'm short (only 5') and never got a driver's license, so I get sensitive about needing to rely on others for everyday independence stuff like getting a plate from a high shelf or picking up some cough syrup. I can't stand having to ask for help with stuff like that.

I know what you mean - my Ma's 5' tall (I'm 5'6", got my Da's height), and she gets easily - and rightly so - upset with the way people act around her. Meaning, they treat her like she's invisible or are downright effing rude to her, just because of her size. Employees in stores will ignore her. People will shove in line in front of her. Usually that's when I'm about ready to clobber people, because NO ONE messes with MY MOMMY!

Y'know, it's never too late to get your driver's license. :)

I'm the same 5'0, and while I don't like certain bits about being short, overall I don't mind it too much. The worst thing (for me) about being short is when guys -- trying to be all chivalrous by holding a door open for me -- does so in such a way as to require me to walk under their arm. : P

Fortunately, I'm also kinda cute, so I don't mind too much when some tall person takes pity on me and my doe-eyed look to get me something from a top shelf in the grocery store, f'instance, LOL. =)

My mother was basically 5 foot nuthin' (her words) and I'm 5'9" Somehow I wound up with the height my older sister and younger half sister lost out on. Whenever my mother went grocery shopping she'd take me with her 'to reach the things on the top shelf'. And I really didn't mind all that much! Except for when people would tease me that's all my mother needed me for.

She would alway say "The short shall inherit the earth, while you tall people get melted by the sun."
