Great, just great... @ 10:04 am

Current Mood: exhausted exhausted

You know it’s gonna be a bad day when you sit down on the bus for your morning commute and another passenger says, “Hey, looks like you’re caught on something.” I shoved my Hedwig sock-in-progress in my pocket as it pulled up, and apparently when I took my bus pass out of the same pocket I dropped my working yarn. (It was a tiny ball, under 10g left, with a new ball waiting in my backpack.) The driver had already closed the door, the ball I dropped caught under it outside - dropped down to the street - and it trailed from there down the aisle back to the project in my pocket. When the driver opened the door so I could retrieve the little ball it got hung up in the weather strip under the door, I ended up having to break off the yarn to get it loose.

Hey, at least the bus didn't take off, the ball get caught on something outside, and the yarn yank you onto the floor of the bus and drag you all the way to the door where your head would ram through the glass.

Trust me, it hurts.

I'm pretty sure my weight's above the yarn's tensile strength, especially since it snapped when I tried yanking it out from under the door.

Well.. just look at it this way. Your project didn't get yanked out of your pocket and ravel out. ^_^ That would have annoyed me far worse that loosing the last of a ball of yarn for sure.

Btw, I did get your message about crochet socks advice. I just forgot becuase I don't really do as much crochet in the summer ... too busy riding my bike. But as the weather cools and forces me inside, I'll pick up my hook again. Could you repeat that? hahaha. I think you asked me to send you the pattern. I think this is it here: http://members.aol.com/Sbaycgoa/patsock.htm

I found another one though that I might try instead.
