I must be crazy... @ 06:51 pm

Current Mood: anxious anxious

One of our auditors is leaving us at the end of the year, and they've finally posted the job opening. The trick is, she doubles as night manager when Knight's not doing it - but the board next to Personnel doesn't mention that as a job requirement. I'm seriously considering asking my boss in the morning if I might get that task, both to make filling the opening easier to find and to somewhat improve my own pocketbook. I know I *can* do it, I've done it a few times on slow nights when one or the other regular was out of town. I'm just not sure if I want to deal with it on a regular basis on normal to busy nights. Maybe I can negotiate the pay differential upward a little, or get them to reevaluate it after a few months.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like a win-win situation for both me and my employers, even though it's scary as hell at the same time.

Edit: I went and did it, pitched the idea to my boss this morning before I could chicken out. Note to self: Need "manager" clothes.

Good for you! What did your manager say? How did it go?

Don't know, I just asked this morning, but he sounded promising. I'll post updates as I hear anything.
